How TCDC Helps Businesses Start, Grow, and Move Forward

Building Communities Together

Starting a business, expanding an existing operation, or navigating a new challenge can bring plenty of questions. Where do you find financing? What resources are available? Who can help you understand your options or connect with the right people?

The Todd County Development Corporation (TCDC) is here to help businesses find answers, explore opportunities, and take the next step forward.

As a county-wide economic development organization, TCDC exists to build opportunities together for your business and community while creating a stronger future for Todd County. We believe supporting diverse economic development will strengthen Todd County and surrounding communities.

What Does TCDC Do?

TCDC serves as a resource and connection point for businesses throughout Todd County. We connect businesses and communities with practical guidance, financing pathways, site selection support, and trusted partnerships.

Our role is to listen, help identify potential solutions, and connect businesses with the people, programs, and resources that may be able to help.

Depending on a business's needs, that support may include:

  • Business financing: Helping businesses explore financing options, including TCDC's Revolving Loan Fund, for eligible projects.
  • Business startup support: Connecting aspiring entrepreneurs with resources and organizations that can help them turn an idea into a business.
  • Expansion and growth: Helping established businesses explore opportunities to expand, invest in equipment, increase capacity, or create jobs.
  • Resource connections: Helping business owners navigate available programs and connect with lenders, government agencies, workforce resources, and other economic development partners.
  • Community and economic development: Working with local governments and community partners to strengthen the business environment and create opportunities throughout Todd County.

TCDC may not provide every service a business needs directly, but we can help business owners identify where to start and who to contact.

Who Does TCDC Serve?

TCDC works with businesses and entrepreneurs at all stages of their journey. You don't need to be a large employer or have an extensive business plan to start a conversation.

Aspiring entrepreneurs who have a business idea and want to understand the steps involved in getting started can reach out for guidance and resource connections.

New and emerging businesses may need help exploring financing, finding the right contacts, or navigating the early stages of business ownership.

Established small businesses can connect with TCDC when considering expansion, purchasing equipment, hiring employees, or exploring new opportunities.

Businesses facing challenges or change may benefit from discussing their situation and identifying potential resources, partners, or next steps.

Businesses considering Todd County as a location for a new operation or expansion can reach out to learn more about the area and connect with local economic development resources.

TCDC's work also extends beyond individual businesses. We collaborate with cities, community organizations, and regional partners because a strong business climate depends on strong communities and cooperation across the county.

When Should a Business Owner Reach Out?

The short answer? Earlier than you might think.

Many people assume they should contact an economic development organization only when they need a loan, are ready to build, or have a fully developed business plan. In reality, reaching out early can help you discover options and make informed decisions before moving too far into the process.

Consider contacting TCDC when you are:

  • Thinking about starting a business but aren't sure where to begin.
  • Exploring financing options for a business purchase, equipment, or expansion.
  • Planning to add employees or increase your business's capacity.
  • Looking for a new location or considering relocating your business.
  • Trying to find grants, technical assistance, or other business resources.
  • Facing a challenge and aren't sure who can help.
  • Simply wondering what opportunities or resources might be available to your business.

You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes, a conversation is the first step toward finding a solution you hadn't considered.

Building a Stronger Todd County Together

Economic development is about more than attracting new businesses. It is also about supporting the businesses already serving our communities, helping entrepreneurs bring new ideas to life, and creating opportunities for people to build their futures here.

When businesses grow, they can create jobs, support local families, strengthen the tax base, and contribute to the vitality of our towns and rural communities. Those benefits help make Todd County a place where businesses can succeed and residents can find opportunities close to home.

TCDC believes supporting diverse economic development strengthens Todd County and the surrounding communities. Through collaboration, resource connections, and business support, we work toward a stronger and more sustainable local economy.

Let's Start a Conversation

Whether you're exploring a new business idea, planning your next stage of growth, or simply looking for answers, the Todd County Development Corporation is ready to connect with you.

You don't need to know exactly what you need or have a complete plan in place. Start by sharing what you're considering, what challenges you're facing, or where you'd like your business to go. Together, we can explore possible next steps.

Have a business question or an idea you'd like to explore? Contact the Todd County Development Corporation . Let's talk about how we can help you move forward.
